This is a current and ongoing expedition. The year is 1838 and the English merchant vessel, Beatrice, set sail from the port Malta in Autumn headed to the port of Liverpool. This vessel was carrying a cargo of valuable treasures and artifacts to the British Museum including the Sarcophagus of the Fourth Dynasty Pharaoh Menkaure. While in route to the British Museum the vessel vanished and with it disappeared the valuable treasures and artifacts.
The news of the loss of the ship was reported in Lloyd's "Loss and Casualty Book". The entry for Thursday, 31st January 1839 reads: “Beatrice, Wichelo, [the skipper of the vessel], sailed from Alexandria 20th Sept. & from Malta, 13th October for Liverpool, & has not since been heard of”.
This is a very ambitious project. I traveled to Egypt gathering information and following up on rumors. My travels took me throughout Egypt, from the Pyramids in Giza to the Temple at Karnack and from Edfu to the Valley of the Kings, etc
This is me at the Giza Plateau standing in front of the Sphinx and with the Great Pyramid in the Background
