I consider myself both a scientist and an explorer. My travels have taken me around the globe, from the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City in China, to the Grand Pyramids in Egypt. Also, I have led expeditions both domestic and international searching for and recovering buried treasures and sunken treasures from numerous shipwrecks. Additionally, I have been fortunate to explore the legends of pirate treasure and even lost gold mines in the Superstition Mountains. It is hard to believe but I have been doing this so long that I now have over 25 years’ experience of successfully recovering sunken and lost treasures both here in the U.S and internationally. When I was younger I had the great fortune to have dived and worked with Commander Bob “Frogfoot” Weller for many years on numerous treasure recovery projects. Bob is regarded as one of the most respected and successful treasure hunters and is the author of numerous books and articles on treasure hunting. Bob, my mentor in treasure hunting, was also a member of UDT Team 1, which was a forerunner to today’s Navy S.E.A.L. program and was also one of the contributing authors to the Navy Dive Manual.
Many of my expeditions have been included in books, magazines, and television. Also my hobbies are sky diving, snow skiing, snowboarding, jogging, scuba diving, water skiing, weight training, reading, mountain climbing, playing classical guitar, and martial arts/hand to hand combat along with weapons training are some of my hobbies. I am certified in every aspect of scuba diving, including, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Wreck Diver, Deep Water Diver, Search & Recovery, Rescue Diver, Dive Master, Master Diver, Mixed Gas Diver, Instructor, etc. and I have been certified in all of these by P.A.DI., N.A.U.I., P.D.I.C., additionally I also received my 100 ton Master Captain's License. My training in Martial Arts and Hand to Hand Combat include, Shotokan Karate, Aikido, Vovinam, Tai Chi, Choi li fut, Wha Lum Tam tui, Hsing I, Krav Maga, Taijitsu, Gojo ryu, Judo, etc. I have trained over seas in Japan and also instructed here in the U.S.
