This was the first episode I did with Josh Gates on his popular TV show Expedition Unknown which primarily focuses on lost and sunken treasure. I was flown to the Caribbean to be on location for filming. The photo shows Josh Gates, the production team and myself on location. This was the episode on the famous pirate Captain Kidd and his legendary pirate treasure. Click the link below to get some "behind the scenes" photos, info and video. It was a blast and I was grateful to be part of it.
I was initially contacted by Debra Padrick of Warner Brothers Pictures to provide some material for hit movie Fool's Gold featuring Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson and Donald Sutherland. The film was about lost and sunken treasure. It was an honor to assist in any way that I could with this great movie. Debra also reached out to me for information about the fabled "Queen's Jewels" - these are a fabulous collection of rare custom made jewelry and treasure that were to be a gift from the King of Spain to his new bride Isabella Farnese, the Duchess of Parma. This famous treasure was lost when the 1715 Treasure Fleet - which was carrying the treasure sank off the coast of Florida.
I was asked to come back to do another episode of the popular TV show Expedition Unknown on the Discovery Channel, of course I said - Yes. The episode was on the notorious pirate Jean Lafitte and his pirate treasure. The photo is a "behind the scenes" photo with me on the left, a cameraman in costume and Josh Gates on the right. This was another great TV show that I was lucky to be part of, Caribbean Pirate Treasure which is about the lost and sunken treasure of pirates. The photo shows me to the left, then Ashlan Cousteau, the producer, and Philippe Cousteau on the right. This photo was taken on set after a day of filming and is from the pilot episode which I was the person who introduces Philippe Cousteau and his wife Ashlan Cousteau to the world of sunken treasure, lost treasure and pirates. Both Ashlan and Philippe have done numerous television and films and it was an honor to work with both of them.
Once again, I was asked to come back to do another episode of the popular TV show, Expedition Unknown on the Discovery Channel. I have always enjoyed working with Josh Gates and his production team and I was happy to join them on this episode about the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar. The photos shows Josh Gates in the center and me on the right (wearing blue shirt) on the final day of filming and right after we wrapped up filming for the day.
I was contacted by one of the producers of the popular TV show, UnExplained, hosted by William Shatner and which is presented by The History Channel. They asked me to be a part of the show and of course I said, "Yes". As a kid I grew up watching William Shatner on the TV show. Star Trek. I was very excited to be a part of his hit TV show. This episode was about all the lost and sunken treasure in America. If you like pirates and treasure, you will like this episode!
This episode is about the legendary Spanish Privateer, Amaro Pargo. He led a fascinating life and was not only a very successful privateer for Spain but also had a very close relationship with the church. Three of his sisters were nuns and he had a close friendship with the saint Mary de Jesus. It is a great episode. Also, It was a great pleasure and privilege to work again with my friends for the TV show Expedition Unknown. At this point I have become friends with most of the production crew including, sound techs, cameraman, writers, producers and even Josh Gates. I can truly say that they are all extremely professional at their jobs and are also really good people. Click the link below for more info and some “Behind the Scenes” info and photos of the episode.
I was asked to come back and do another episode for William Shanter's TV show, The UnXplained, which airs on The History Channel. Of course I said, Yes. I really like working with all the members of the team which create this great show. Plus for me getting to be on a show with Williams Shanter, which as a child I watched him on Star Trek the TV series and all of his Star Trek movies, this was a dream come true. I can’t share any photos yet or talk about the episode until it airs on The History Channel. As soon as it airs I will share about the episode. It is going to be a really great episode especially if you like treasure. It was a lot of fun and an honor to work again with the production team.
In this video we were filming for television and diving at Shark Canyon. Of course, the production team felt that there weren't enough sharks, so they started adding blood and dead fish to the water to get more sharks - which they did. In the video you can see all the sharks swimming around me, some circling me, and right next to me. I actually wanted to start petting them - yes pretty stupid of me (LoL). Egyptian Treasure and the Pharaohs’ Curse – I was recently on location in Manhattan being filmed for a three-episode TV show about the lost and found treasures of Egypt and the legendary curses. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed working with the producer and the whole production team. I share photos, videos, & pictures of the episodes. The episodes are about Egyptian Treasures and also about the Pharaoh’s curses and those that it appears have fallen victim to the curses and died. We hope you like it and please let us know your thoughts after you watch it – thanks.
These are some great videos and photos of one of my expeditions where we recovered a lot of Sunken Treasure! In the photo you can see me holding an oxidized silver coin. Pure silver coins oxidize quickly in the ocean and take on an almost black color. However, once they are cleaned, they get back their lustrous silver shine.
